Rent-Controlled Apartments: Nice If You Can Get One

From July 2008:

In this video from New York's WCBS-TV, US Representative Charles Rangel (D-NY) defends his occupancy of multiple rent-controlled apartments intended to help the needy.

  1. Rangel's case can be multiplied over and over. The same is true of his hypocracy.

  2. Thanks, John. I'm especially happy to have this fresher example, since my students have never heard of people like Carly Simon, Alistair Cooke, Kim Alexis, Mia Farrow, and Ed Koch -- though they all lived in rent-stabilized apartments intended for the needy.
